| France | Eurostat | 2005-05-01 | suppressed | FRA.CPI_ESTAT_CP098_*.M | 2026-10-04 | Single-month index anomaly |
| Source-published package-holiday movement, not a transcription defect. Independently decoded Eurostat data give April/May/June 2005 indices 33.04/40.97/34.93, with May MoM 24.0% and YoY 24.2%. The French Direction du Tourisme report Tourisme Infos Stat no. 2006-6, page 2 (Prix des voyages organises), explicitly discusses the large May 2005 increase. Its INSEE-sourced charts, visually checked with the full page text, show the same peak and annual change near 24%. The national CPI graph corroborates the event, not exact HICP levels. No interpolation or correction is warranted; different dates/categories remain subject to review. | ||||||
| France | Eurostat | 2022-09-01 | suppressed | FRA.CPI_ESTAT_CP07332_*.M, FRA.CPI_ESTAT_CP112_*.M, FRA.CPI_ESTAT_SERV_REC_HOA_*.M | 2026-10-04 | Possible index rebasing |
| Source-published tourism seasonality, not a rebasing. Independent JSON-stat decoding of the 20261002T100806Z Eurostat archive matches all 479,534 French monthly cells across 1,477 series, including these September 2022 falls. International air transport reads 124.69 to 84.71 (-32.1% published MoM); accommodation 112.48 to 89.46 (-20.5%); the package-holiday/accommodation aggregate 111.83 to 88.02 (-21.3%). INSEE's definitive September 2022 release describes a stronger seasonal decline in tourism services. Its national CPI is contextual corroboration, not an interchangeable HICP level. August 2023 HICP indices recover to 122.57, 114.56 and 113.21 respectively. The six-month winter comparison falsely made this look permanent; overlapping categories are not independent evidence of a broad rebasing. No values changed; only these categories/date settle the detector. | ||||||
