The connector's own docstring, verbatim. It lives beside the code so it cannot drift from it.
Senegal consumer prices from the Agence Nationale de la Statistique et de la Démographie (ANSD).
ANSD's IHPC page publishes two complementary official resources:
* the "Série de données IHPC" workbook, whose divisions (from January 1998), NCOA groups (from January 2008) and secondary analytical aggregates (from January 2000) are the series ANSD itself links to the 2023=100 base. The workbook says so on every sheet, and each 2023-base bulletin repeats that indices before January 2025 are the 2014 base linked to the new base. This connector therefore stores one source-published linked family; it performs no splice of its own; * one PDF bulletin per month from January 2025, the first 2023-base release. Each bulletin publishes the current month's monthly and annual changes for the national headline, the thirteen divisions, the NCOA groups and the analytical aggregates, plus the index and changes for the six economic zones whose collection centres are Dakar, Thiès, Diourbel, Kaolack, Kolda and Saint-Louis.
Published rates always win. National monthly and annual changes before the first 2023-base bulletin exist only as index levels in the linked workbook, so `derive()` computes those earlier months from the same linked index and declares that provenance. Months from January 2025 come only from the bulletins. The workbook's own latest-month variation columns are checked for internal consistency but are not emitted, so one month never carries two competing published values.
The older 2008- and 2014-base monthly bulletins (2012-2024) remain on the same official listing. They are not parsed: ANSD's linked workbook already publishes that history in 2023=100 terms, and the native bases would add a second, deliberately separate family that no reader-facing view needs yet.
