The connector's own docstring, verbatim. It lives beside the code so it cannot drift from it.

BBS publishes one workbook per monthly CPI/WRI release. The workbook carries national, rural, and urban CPI levels plus published month-over-month and year-over-year rates for all items, non-food, and twelve source-labelled COICOP divisions. The catalogue retains every 2025-present Excel release; each release carries its own month and the same month a year earlier, so those files provide a continuous detailed history from January 2024 without deriving rates. The workbook also republishes national annual history under five reference bases. Living Inflation Data validates that complete source catalogue but, by owner decision, serves only the current 2021-22 family; retired families remain in the immutable raw workbooks and are never spliced into the current index.
The catalogue host currently presents an incomplete TLS certificate chain to Python on the collector. As with Rosstat, the transport-chain check is disabled only for the catalogue request, then the response identity, selected Oracle object-storage URL, XLSX ZIP structure, sheet set, periods, category count, and rate arithmetic are validated before bytes enter the archive.
