The connector's own docstring, verbatim. It lives beside the code so it cannot drift from it.
Macao CPI from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
DSEC's current time-series database publishes three distinct household-basket families -- Composite CPI, CPI-A and CPI-B -- on the July 2023 to June 2024 base. The source itself chain-links the current-base index back to 1998; this connector stores that explicitly published linked series and never joins base families on its own. The official catalogue, the 2014 and 2019 rebasing papers, and the first 2024-base release are archived beside every data fetch so the history and classification transitions remain auditable.
The API publishes index levels plus previous-period and same-period changes. All three are retained as source values. Basket weights come from the latest annual DSEC workbook and are normalized from percent to shares.
