Consumer price index

Source

The same category from more than one publisher. The national statistics office is the record; the IMF's series are its own compilation and can differ in definition, coverage and vintage.

Published family

SingStat publishes the general household CPI, three annual household-income-group families, and additional analytical indicators separately. The 2024=100 history is the official source-linked series; Living Data does not privately splice bases.

Frequency

Frequencies are separate source series, not interchangeable observations. Annual measures retain their source definitions.

SingStat publishes Housing Maintenance & Repairs at 91.580 in April 2016, 64.435 in May and 91.589 in June. Its separate monthly-change table publishes -29.6% and +42.1% for May and June, exactly reconciling to those index levels. The table's official footnote says this category incorporates Service & Conservancy Charges rebates and consequently has monthly volatility. This is therefore source-explained policy timing, not a parser error or base transition; preserve it unchanged.
SingaporeSingapore Department of Statistics2023-05-01suppressedSGP.CPI_SINGSTAT_GENERAL_1_06_1_2_INDEX.M2026-10-11Possible index rebasing
The official index falls 114.636 to 91.500 in May 2023 and rebounds to 107.891 in June. SingStat's independently archived monthly-change table publishes -20.2% and +17.9% for those same months, while its year-on-year table publishes -7.7% in May. The return toward the prior level rules out a permanent base change, and the separate published rate confirms the cell and period join. Retain this source-published category volatility.

SingStat's seafares index surges to 270.577 in March 2022 before falling to 185.009 in April and 110.050 in May. The independent monthly-change table publishes +325.3%, -31.6% and -40.5% over those three months, and the annual-change table likewise carries the surge and normalization. Exact cross-table agreement, the preceding spike and the later stable level establish unusual source-published travel-price volatility rather than a parser omission or silent base splice. Preserve all published values.
